We watch the weather in Kauai, Hawaii (favorite place) but it's utterly ridiculous to do that. It's ALWAYS 75-85 and nice. It never changes.
There shouldn't even be a weather report there.

I just hope we don't have a repeat of last year's playa weather. In all these years (I first went in 2000) I've never had the weather screw things up to the point that if that's how it is, I don't even wanna go. Last year, that's how I felt.

I was introduced to Maui in 2010. Immediately became a favorite place. I haven't yet been back but it always comes to mind whenever I feel the need for calm and peace.

Last year's weather was challenging. Already learned what needed replacement because of poor performance in those weather conditions and feel more prepared and comfortable with my choices in changes :)

If the weather improves this year it will just add awesomesauce to the most incredible experience burger of my life so far......well that an In N Out (Canadians are super jealous btw)

19 days wooooo

The white outs are discouaging. Yay uses them to make new friends. Im not that outgoing... But i wish i were. Maybe this year ill just pop into a mystery camp during a whiteout and make friends.
With my luck, the camp will have cannibals...

The dome was worth the effort last year. Air you could see thru and actually breathe. We are committed to the bus, instead. But maybe the dome cover will be repaired by 2017!

The day time temps last year were not to bad or as hot as the last time the Captain and I went.

With all the very hot, hot weather temps right now in all the places in the west Known to get real hot give me the impression that it's gonna be really hot durning the day out on the playa this year. Hotter than I would like, but I am originally from south Florida where it is very hot and humid.

The night temps will get colder than they are showing right now at the beginning of Sept. But some of nights last time were just too dam cold and but a damper on our fun.

This years theme does provide the opportunity to wear warmer Renascence garb to keep warmer at night I do like costumes but am not a seamstress so have to buy some pre made but have made or customize some costumes . Renascence costumes are not easy to wing lol they take some real skill to make from scratch so I did buy some. I would like to have some more original and elaborate Renascence costumes but they are costly.

I hope the dust storms are not as bad as last year as some days/nights where a wash or more a complete white out and that really sucked.

That being said a good thing did come out the dust We hooked up with some real fun folks and made some good friends that I am real happy to get to spend time with this year and get to know better. Its gonna be Great!!!

O.M.G

Some douche-bro from LA on Facebook was lamenting the "impossible weather" and using it for an excuse for not finishing his little hexayurt.

Oh puhleese.

The poor baby had to deal with 86f and 40% with a 8 mph breeze. Boo fooking hoo. The only thing he was missing was a rum drink with a slice of pineapple and a little paper umbrella. Compare: I'm sweating my balls off, twice his age, and its 98f and 85% and not a fucking hint of a breeze. Seriously dude? WTF?!?

Okay. Deep breath. I feel better now (no, actually I lied. I'm still hot, sweaty and miserable).

Beams made an interesting observation: BRC will be a slice compared to the crap we have had to wade thru just to get there.

Deep South Texas sucks in the summer. Seriously....

I am really hoping the nights arent as cold this year..but, I will pack accordingly. I am envious of melon's sewing abilities. I can hand sew..but damn that takes ages. I could always wear a big old sack with a rope around the middle...I can do the Renaissance beggar style. hehe

I think the vast majority did wear burlap sacks.
All this fancy wear was only worn by the few elite rich.

The difference between Hillary and Trump? With Hillary we wear burlap sacks. With Trump we wear oak barrels.'

And either way we are told its the latest style....

With the 105-115 temps we've been having out here daily in the Valley-O-Da-Sun, (my power bill is ridunculas!!) I figured if it stays near 100'F I will be good. Especially if the humidity is low like I expect. True, we don't get the humidity, but when its over 105, it flat doesn't matter what the humidity is. It's just oppressively hot, Africa Hot! Burns to breath, sweat through your cloths just standing.

We always joke when it hits hundred in the evening and we say, "...its not so bad now"....

How wrong is that? :?

When it's hot like that in BRC I tend to sleep during the day and be out and about at night when it's not so miserable.
