Bloody marys

Postby chuckularone » February 8th, 2015, 5:43 pm

I just threw a bunch of grape tomatoes, some horseradish, some Tabasco, some siracha, some pepper, some Tony Chachre's cajun seasoning and a whole bunch of vodka into the blender. Turned it up to 11 and 2.5 minutes later, poured it into a 16 oz glass. garnished with several home-pickled green beans.

Hell of a bloody mary!

The only thing about this that makes it NOT a healthy shake is the addition of alcohol.

Alcohol is healthy...
Its 7% of the usual American diet.
It reduces heart disease and the chance of stroke ( thins the blood)
except for the occasional liver problem - which an Irishman wouldn't have - it a benefit.

I don't apologize for drinking. AT 58, I can make that choice.
It doesn't interfere with my work, or my relationships...
Ok there have been a few awkward moments... but is all good.

Sobriety Index: 6.52... no 7.32

I love bloody mary's, but by far my FAVORITE recipe is not one that's been homemade. I'm in LOVE with Lefty O'Douls. I've had a ton of different recipes over the years, but unless your recipe can be chewed like a meal then it won't stand up to Lefty O'Douls. A San Francisco original.

Hmm can this mix be picked up readily? Never seen that one before.

Bloody Mary's are my favorite thing in the morning.

as Canadians, we're born with Clamato juice in our veins. Not the same as a Bloody Mary, but delicious none the less.
I bet on a dusty day it's even better.

(Adds silly amounts of vodka to grocery list)

Mel - I should see if I can send some your way. Since it's non-alcoholic I think it shouldn't be a problem. I've only found it in one store in the States and I pray they never go out of business.

I'm up to judge a 'Bloody Mary-off".

The question looming is
"All in one session"

or

"Spread throughout the week"

??? 8-)

Is that store near you in Washington? I'll put it in my list of stuff to pick up. I did find it on Amazon.

Or hey if/when you come to Vancouver/ the island, bring me a bottle and I'll treat you and your missus to dinner in the harbor :-) we have some delightful oyster bars. Gorgeous fresh Fanny Bay oysters and a Bloody Mary = arrival of summer!
