I does seem quite early considering you are even further north than we are here in the Portland area. I guess you've had a very warm winter as we have here, but the cherry blossoms are still hiding from sight. It's probably a good thing, because there is still a few weeks left and we could get hit with something yet before winters over... but if not I'll be just fine with that also.
Make bad decisions, but don't play badminton with the birdie in the back.

ya that's what everyone is chattering about - we're bound to be hit by a frost wave, and the blossoms will suffer and freeze.
But in the meantime I will enjoy their pretty scent and lovely pink snow.

So here's a story - last week.
A longstanding (30 year) local business is messy. Its a rental/repair biz - so there is lots of junk, parts, hulks from which parts can be scavenged. New City Manager decides its not up to his white anglo saxon upper middle class standard. They start hassling the local biz.
Initially, local biz is willing to comply. Hires a maintenance company to mow the grass. Cleans up a lot of the mess. Upgrades electrical service.
Ends up in a trial. 3 hours, local court. Of course, I cheat like hell.
Unanimous verdict in our favor.
How long do you think it will take for local constabulary to bring new charges?

Beams turned voir dire into an opening statement. It was grand! Totally against the rules, but what the heck! Its JP court and these rules are more like guidelines! 
The fun part is this: all we needed to win was two people to decide they saw it our way. Instead, ALL OF THEM saw it our way. Thats a real kick in the keister for the City Manager (whose wife was the complaining Code Enforcement Officer, BTW. Hehehe)

I love the minor courts. Its so much fun. There are few rules of evidence, and more than often common sense wins.
