Haiku

Postby Sunbeam » January 25th, 2015, 3:14 pm

{Edit} Haiku is generally a three verse poem that describes a feeling, or portrays an image. Its usually 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables.
There is some fluctuation - because of translation problems. If you go from Japanese to English, the number of syllables can change. Not just related to language. For example: Damn, spoken by a Texas is two syllables: Dah Yum...

This is not original, but its so old the author is unknown. With the Desiderata, this is my philosophy.

"My view of the moon
Is much improved
Since my house burned."

My poor little feet
Coated in alkaline dust
Bleed silently now
"Look who is coming for dinner...!"

and oil your fair skin.

Cold; burning desire
Longs for moments transcendent.
Ash, swirling skyward.
YAY!

The dust harbors my emotions
I can't breathe
Bring me the music

Underage waitress, red hair
Stars behind her ear in blue
Coyote with lust in his heart.

I'm tired and sleepy
My daughter is here
I will persevere
But damn, my eyes are half open...

Ok, that;s a limerick, not haiku. :)

The day is done
Grey Coyote still measures his thumb.

As the clouds continue to form across the sky
My mind still drifts and tries to hide

Something I cannot articulate
Calls me to matriculate and grow
I'm too old for fantasy.
