Anybody in the group playing with the JT modes on HF? I'm making some big mischief on 20 meters lately but I'm looking for someone to QSO with while I see "how low we can go" and still make the trip. Chuck? Titty? Anyone up for a sked?

Seems like a hell of a lot of work. Though, it looks cool.

Great post-zombie-apocalypse communication method.

Ya gotta try it, Chuck. A little effort to get setup and sorted, but once there its a lot of fun.

In the last 48 hours I've nabbed Australia, France, Costa Rica, Columbia, Ecudor, Brazil, Switzerland, a dozen Canadians (all provinces), and **CUBA*** (yup!). Never more than 60 watts ERP. 10 watts lets me work pretty much everything within 1000 miles on land when the band is open.

This mode is just incredible. And this is all happening on a G5RV Jr which really is a sucky (non-resonant) dipole!

Hmmm I have no idea what was just said, but I was in Australia once... :?

Lol! Its a odd digital mode. Very similar to how Earth talks to space probes way beyond Pluto. Its slow as hell, but it can span lots of miles with very little power. :)

I just spoke with a guy who made 9000 miles with 5 watts. Just incredible!!!

QRZ.com just issued me a 100 US Counties Award (digital mode) and a 100 Grid Square Award (digital mode).

Thats 420 QSO's logged in JT65/JT9 and counting. Schweet!
