CB in the jeep? Or hand held.

I have been toying with putting a CB in the jeep, but am having issues justifying it.

Its truly only good when I go out with a group of people and or if I get stuck somewhere.....and technically it requires a license.

Re: Power and what to look for

Grey I was kicking the idea around with the power guys at my office. We can just rent an Ingersol Rand type diesel device hehe, its already on a trailer, they usually start at 20 kw, and that's a lot of watts. They are stupid reliable in all weather conditions and might just be worth the rental for ...

Stuipid company stupid money

So as you may or may not know....Christa and I have been doing personal development courses. We also happen to work for the same umbrella corporation under different corporate banners. They gave me the days off for the course as Training days, but they told Christa shes lucky to have a job with all ...

Re: Power and what to look for

So I youtubed and read a bit on the parallel of the hondas, and in theory if you had the right cable or setup, you could parallel many many units together. There may be no limit. The nice thing seems that if one unit dies that your not left in the "dark" yup nice pun huh...... The 3000s ar...

Re: Baffle Design for genny

I will take a picture, its a long lever beside the choke lever, I think its exactly what you guys are talking about.
All it did was increase the RPM of the genny, everything got brighter at that point. So it was good :)

Re: Baffle Design for genny

That explains why I saw a brightness increase when I cranked it up.

I dont know if new generators have that leaver thing. I don't even know what to call it, its beside the choke.
Honestly I think even my smoke machines performed better when it was cranked up, more voltage makes sense.

Re: Power and what to look for

Thanks Chuck, I was just going off what I read on the honda site, and that link I posted. Was going to youtube it up tonight too. I was also told that parallel helps a lot, way more than say running a single unit for a single job. and running 2 or 3 singles like that. If that makes sense. Fuel usage...

Power and what to look for

Ok guys, I am a year out and need to replace the beast that I borrowed. What do I look for? I would like something saleable of course. from 2000 watts to skys the limit. I ran 1900 watts ish last year, would like to run more next year but need to measure it. I think the only reason I ran into issues...

Re: Baffle Design for genny

This genny that i borrowed had not been run in 1.5 years before me, so I dont think she cares much about it. Her ex husband purchased it for some reason. To be quite honest it sounded funny from the start, like a metal sound, scoring like um.....when you file metal with an oil on your file... The pl...

Re: The thread of colored fire

Thank you sir, it was much fun. It keeps me from drinking too much, getting more sun than I need (epic tan levels) and enjoying that which I create.

I am already dreaming about next year, This started 3/4 way through this build hahahaha.

Re: The thread of colored fire

In the end we just burned the methanol in a giant bowl suspended 11 feet up. One bowl failed and we had methanol dripping into the column, next year it will be better. The columns of smoke and fire turned out amazing, the whole community is a buzz. We had Rangers rip to our camp twice as well as a p...

Re: Baffle Design for genny

Well the baffle worked for sound....but failed on heat. It would over heat the genny within 10 minutes even with holes drilled in it. I dont think I allowed enough air space. I would open up the box, this would cause noise, only a few complaints. We mostly ran it from midnight to 3am for the columns...

Re: Baffle Design for genny

10-4. I cleaned out the air intake, and the fuel filter, the air intake was dirty, the fuel filter not at all. I burned off all the shit gas in my tests, and it has been refilled 1/2 way till I am done testing, I will fill it all the way on the fraya, or when it gets loaded on the truck. I am going ...

Re: The thread of colored fire

Well I cant get more chemicals for this project in time so green it is.
To get stuff like strontium I need an import license and to fill out some RCMP documents.

I added some videos for the synchronized smoke machines on you tube.

I did not get to this as scheduled, once I clean up the garage today, I should get to at least my sketch book tonight.

Grey, can I use methanol instead of aviation fuel?

Baffle Design for genny

So I got a free 5000 watt genny, one of them commercial ones, it has 1000 hours on it or so, hasn't been run in 1.5 years. Going to take it apart this weekend and clean it up, but I have been thinking of baffle design. This sucker is huge, 100 pounds or so, takes 2 adults to move safely. I fully exp...
